Architects draw up plans for a building per geographical location. At least, that is what most of us know. However, there’s more to the services of an architect than to just “draw.” In one of the architectural summits that happened this year, there was a review of the Galloway architectural services, which consist of typical activities that are expected of a sound architectural enterprise. People reach architects at different phases of a project, from start to finish. They seek their services or consultation (which is also a service) for certain things. The following are the services offered.

Planning: Here, your preferred architect or firm commences the plan. You consult, state your intentions, ideas, goals, and so on. Hence, here includes general questioning. The architect researches and commences core decisions on the project. This initial stage is a consultation service.

Schematic Design; In schematic designing, the architect will be developing what type of structure you want. It includes sketches and drawings. The architectural drawing comprises floor plans and various elevations. This stage offers information on systems containing plumbing, HVAC, electrical, etc., especially for conduit systems. In cases where you are using a company like Galloway architectural services, whose firm also has an engineering arm, schematic designing gets very interesting and reliable.

Design Development: Once the preliminary plan is done, this stage calls for refining. Here, the architect considers materials and their durability for the type of building to be built. Of course, they do not just make the decision; your involvement is crucial. They only offer professional counsel based on the plan.

Construction Document: This is when you get two sets of drawings with details, including each design aspect. The specifications here are what the engineers would use for their construction. Also, for building permits and choosing a contractor, you will be presenting these documents.

Construction Administration: During construction, the architect offers continuous counsel and consultation (if this service is agreed upon). The architect visits the site to observe if the contractors follow what is on the plan and offer professional tips if needed. Material testing and inspections are among some firm’s construction administration offerings. However, this is not an issue if using Galloway architectural services and decide to use their engineering services, too.

So, there you have the architectural services. Note that one firm does not have to do all of these. You may reach any trusted architectural firm at any of these stages where you may need their service.
